3 WIM teams were in the Black Mountains (eastern Brecon Beacons) this weekend (27/28 October) for the OMM (Original Mountain Marathon). Results:
Medium Score (Sat 6h, Sun 5h) 241 finishers, winners scored 1020 points, 241st placed team scored minus 142 points.
Patrick & Eamon Staunton 83rd with 520 points.
Philip & Rachel Evason 204th with 350 points and 57th/69 on veteran’s handicap.
Short Score (Sat 5h, Sun 4h) 154 finishers, winners scored 770 points, 154th placed team scored 106 points.
Keith Henderson & John Walmsley 112th with 300 points, 31st/50 on veteran’s handicap.
The weather mix made for a tough weekend: very low temperatures, below freezing on the summits, high winds, wind-driven hail, snow, a little rain ……. and some lovely autumn sunshine too!
